About Curacao

Curaçao... sun, sea and beautiful sandy beaches, a relaxed atmosphere, a pleasant temperature all year round, relax and above all enjoy. What more could you want from your holiday destination?  

But Curaçao offers much more! Curaçao is an island with many possibilities, both on land and on and under water. Around the island you will find the most beautiful diving and snorkeling locations, with a fantastic and colorful underwater world. There are also many opportunities for entertainment on the water, such as sailing, windsurfing and kayaking. To the south-east of Curaçao lies Klein-Curaçao, a small uninhabited island: a wonderful destination for an excursion. It  Christoffel Park  is a beautiful nature reserve, nearby  lagoon

Willemstad is a lively place with excellent restaurants and other entertainment venues. And of course carnival, the annual sailing races, windsurfing, and ...

  • Number of inhabitants: 152,000 

  • Area: 472 km², the largest island of the Netherlands Antilles 

  • Airport: Hato International Airport 

  • Capital: Willemstad 

  • Currency: Netherlands Antillean Guilder (pegged to the value of the US Dollar) 

  • Languages: the mother tongue is Papiamentu. In addition, Dutch, Spanish and English are widely spoken. 

  • Curaçao is called Korsow in Papiamentu. 

  • Temperature: average 27 degrees Celsius. The difference between summer and winter temperatures is only small: about 2.5 degrees. The difference between day and night temperature is about 6 degrees. 

  • Sea water temperature: the sea water is warm, on average 27 degrees Celsius 

  • Precipitation: on average there is between 50 and 70 cm of rain per year.
